Sensory-Friendly Movie Screening: Preparing For The Cinema

Our hardworking Brightstars team is finalising the details for our 1st Movie Day outing event. Thanks to MBO Cinemas, who have gone out of their way to ensure that the event goes smoothly, we have made special arrangements for the movie to be screened in 2D rather than 3D. We requested for a sensory-friendly hall with the the lights turned up, lower volume, lots of space to move around and no long, noisy trailers. Our students will be among the first to watch this highly awaited movie in the most supportive & sensory friendly environment possible. We read social stories to help our students prepare for the Angry Birds movie trip. For the last couple of weeks, we have been prepping the kids for the movie and they are looking forward to the school trip. For many of the children, this will be the first time they are going to the cinema. Each student attending will be assigned to 1 therapist to ensure that they are comfortable and enjoy the experience. Their parents are so excited that some of them are joining us too! Looking forward to a fun day at the movies with friends and family. A huge thank you to En. Ghani of MBO Cinema, Citta Mall for his kind compassion and understanding of autism! ‪
